Open Education Week 2020 (#OEWeek) is March 2-6, to “raise awareness and showcase impact of open education on teaching and learning worldwide.” Open Educational Resources (OER) are increasingly adopted across educational institutions to provide students with accurate, affordable, and inclusive course material. OERs may take the forms of many types of teaching materials, including lesson plans, assessment tools, and textbooks. The creation of OER relies on the open sharing of resources through the ability to reuse, remix, and distribute.
Join staff from Albertsons Library and the eCampus Center on March 6 at 11:00 AM for “Build an OER in Under an Hour” in room L203. This session will provide attendees with the ability to find and reuse existing material to create new open educational resources. Participants will gain an understanding of Creative Commons licensing, be led through a process of search and discovery, and learn how to construct and distribute a Pressbooks OER. This workshop is free and open to all Boise State faculty and staff.
