After the end of the spring semester, Albertsons Library will upgrade the existing WorldCat Local online catalog and search tool to its successor: WorldCat Discovery. The upgrade to WorldCat Discovery goes live mid-May.

Library users will benefit from an improved interface with new features that allow for ease of use when navigating between one result and the full results listing and quick, responsive searches on mobile devices. Users who have tried the interface describe it as being easier to navigate with a more sophisticated design. More citation styles are available and the link for a specific catalog record is easier to find and copy.

All materials in the WorldCat Local will be available in WorldCat Discovery. Users will still be able to place requests and holds and easily narrow searching from items in all of the world’s libraries that use WorldCat/OCLC resources to only items that Albertsons Library owns.

A preview option of the interface is now available in our WorldCat Discovery Sandbox here. Try it and let the Library know what you think.
