On November 29 the University Singers will close the Armistice Day Centenary exhibit in the Albertsons Library with a performance that recreates the 1914 Christmas Truce, extemporaneous and unofficial ceasefires where soldiers on both sides spent time singing carols and sharing the holiday. While accounts vary about what actually occurred, the truce and its moments of peace provided hope then as they do now.
Boise State’s University Singers, under the direction of Dr. Jim Jirak, is comprised of students from across the campus. The performance will be held at 5 pm on the first floor of the library, in the corner near Starbucks, and will last approximately 20 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
