Do you love the Harry Potter series? Have you loved it enough to stay up all night to get the next book? If not, we’ll tell you what it was like!

Laura and Cat from Access Services attended the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child midnight release party at The Rediscovered Bookshop in Downtown Boise late Saturday night. The bookstore was filled with Potterheads of all ages participating in: patronus drawing, competing in a parseltongue impression contest, guessing how many Bertie Botts jelly beans were in the bowl, and reading fan fiction and chapters from various books in the Harry Potter series. When the clock approached midnight, everyone in the store began to count down to the release of the book. The cheering at midnight was reminiscent of ringing in the New Year. Everyone was clutching their book tightly; fans that have been reading Harry Potter from the beginning and new fans that were excited for another journey in the wizarding world.

Laura never got to read the books growing up but when she finally did in college, she fell in love. Cat read the series growing up and found the courage to let her intelligence shine through Hermione.

Check out Albertsons Library’s extensive list of Harry Potter resources and reaffirm your love for Harry Potter, or perhaps, initiate a new adventure with the “Boy Who Lived”.
