When many students must
use a book within a limited time period, it is removed from the
general collection and placed in reserve stacks. Usually this is
done at the request of an instructor.
Some instructors place copies of their old tests
on reserve; however, the Library does not maintain a test file.
Photocopies of periodical articles or chapters from books and
instructors' personal copies may also be placed on reserve. To the
extent possible, photocopies of articles, old tests and
instructor's notes are scanned and placed on electronic reserve.
Electronic reserve allows you to read the articles 24/7 from any
web-accessible computer. Study
guides for selected standardized tests such as GRE and CLEP are
available at this reserve desk. Reserve books are checked out for a limited time. ALL RESERVE
MATERIALS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE RESERVE DESK.
Directions: After
entering the Library through two sets of glass doors, then through
the security gates, the Circulation Desk is to your left.
The Reserves Desk is an
extension of the circulation counter, past the pillar.
