Print Index, First Floor (Social Sciences Index)

Periodicals indexes list the contents of periodicals by subject and sometimes by author. The purpose of a periodicals index is to provide the bibliographic information necessary for locating the article itself: author, article title, periodical name, volume, page, date.

The Albertsons Library subscribes to several indexes via the World Wide Web.

Like the print indexes, the electronic indexes provide access to information about the contents of periodicals/journals, books and reports.  Selected indexes now also include some full-text (or complete) articles.  Many of the web indexes may be used from off campus.

Directions: As you walk through the door into the Library, the Reference Assistance Desk is in front of you.  The shelving units directly past the Reference Desk hold most of the print indexes.  The computer terminals on either side of the Reference Desk provide access to the electronic indexes via the World Wide Web.
