MSS 137 De Freitas, Thomas L., 1873-1951.
Autobiography (written in 1948) recording some of De Freitas' experiences as an immigrant sheepherder and buckaroo in Nevada and Idaho at the turn of the century, his early literary efforts, later life as a dairy farmer and millworker in Portland, Oregon, and his political and economic views; together with poems (mainly in Portuguese); an unpublished novel about German Americans set during World War I; stories set mainly on the Nevada frontier; and essays and letters to newspaper editors expressing his opinions on politics and economics.
