Chiefly U.S. government correspondence and internal FBI memoranda relating to Ernest Hemingway, particularly his activities in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, alleged Communist contacts, his intelligence work in Cuba during World War II, and friendship with Gustavo Duran. Many documents have been censored. Originals held by the FBI, Washington D.C. (File 64-23312) and are reproduced on the Bureau's website at http://foia.fbi.gov/foiaindex/ernesthemingway.htm .
