Article Indexes and DatabasesIs a Journal Refereed? The most accurate method of assessing whether a journal is refereed is to look in the journal itself. Look for the journal's guidelines for article submission that usually appear in at least one issue per year. Some journals' submission guidelines state clearly that the journal uses a peer review process. In others, the guidelines say to send three or more copies of the manuscript, also an indication that the peer-review process is used.Return to Previous Page |
