How do I cite Internet sources on my term paper?

First, you have to know which bibliographic style your instructor wants you to use. Then:

  1. Most of the organizations that issue a standard bibliographic style (APA, MLA, etc) have directions for citing Internet and other sources on their web pages:

    American Pychological Association
The library owns APA Style Guide to Electronic References, ref desk BF76.7.P832 2007 1st floor.
Modern Language Association >MLA Style>Frequently Asked Questions
    University of Chicago Press

  2. The University’s Writing Center has links to APA, Chicago/Turabian, and MLA styles at Online Writing Resources

  3. The latest copies of the various style manuals also contain directions for citing electronic sources. The Library has multiple copies of the most commonly used manuals in its Mini-Ref collections. These can be checked out. Non-circulating copies of the more specialized manuals can be found in the Reference Department. If you can’t find what you want, be sure to ask at Reference Assistance.
