I am a BSU student with a disability. Who can I
contact for help?
For someone to assist you in use of the Library, contact BSU Student
Services at 426-1583.
The Albertsons Library Circulation Desk has keys to the specially
equipped rooms for the visually impaired that include JAWS for Windows software (a screen reader
application) and
Open Book Ruby Edition software (a
screen or scanned text reader application). Also, the
Circulation Department can provide brief assistance in locating
materials on the shelves (also known as "the stacks").
The Albertsons Library Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) has four special CD players
and West Campus Library one CD player on
reserve that students can use to access books recorded in Daisy format
from Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. They do not leave the
building, and check out for 3 hours of in-house use.
Reference Assistance includes face-to-face, telephone (426-3301), email
and live chat
service. Several public computers located on the first floor are wheelchair accessible; some have
large-sized screens, and touch pads or track balls.
If you have other questions about the Library’s accommodations for the disabled, call
Marilyn Moody, Dean of University Libraries, at 426-1234, or email her
at MarilynMoody@boisestate.edu
