Typewritten transcript recounting Nelson's life until 1891, including his childhood in Sweden, transatlantic voyage (1879), rail travels in the West and South, farm work in Nebraska, and railroad construction and section work in Colorado and Montana. Includes descriptions of a gambling hall in Denver (1882) and a Mississippi River steamboat voyage from St. Louis to St. Paul (1886).

Gift of Mr. Nelson's granddaughter, Carole J. Clemens, Boise, Idaho, 1983.
