MSS 19 Tracy, Paul E., 1889-1976.
Chiefly poems and essays by Tracy, in ms. and published form; together with literary and personal correspondence, diaries, reminiscences, memorabilia, photos, and other papers. Many of the poems and essays concern the Owyhee region of south- western Idaho. Includes reminiscences of his childhood in the 1890s in Silver City, Idaho, the Chinese there, and his work as an electric linesman (1912-1914) during the construction of Arrowrock Dam in Idaho; memorabilia from student days at the College of Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho; letters written while attached to the 218th Aero Squadron in France and Germany during World War I (including service as the squadron's bandleader); and World War II letters from Tracy's son, William B. Tracy (b. 1923), a glider pilot working as instructor and mechanic for the Army Air Force's glider program at Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Lamesa, Texas. Correspondents include Dr. William J.
