MSS 12 Stanford, Thomas C., 1865-1946.
Chiefly correspondence relating to Idaho and national politics, Republican Party, sheep raising, ranching, wool marketing, grazing rights, irrigation, Craters of the Moon National Monument, and Stanford's business interests; together with journals (1889-1893) kept by Stanford while a Mormon missionary in New Zealand, and miscellaneous business papers. Correspondents include William E. Borah and other members of Idaho's congressional delegation. Journals only are on microfilm; locations of original journals unknown. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Historical Department (Salt Lake City, Utah) also has microfilm copy of journals. Gift of Mr. Stanford's grandson, Ronald Stanford, Boise, Idaho, 1974 Stanford's representation of the grazing interests in connection to Craters of the Moon National Monument is treated in Craters of the Moon National Monument: An Administrative History, by David Louter (Seattle: National Park Service, Pacific Northwest Region, 1992).
