Manuscript Collections

Albertsons Library collects letters, journals, diaries, scrapbooks, photographs, and other primary-source material documenting the history of Idaho, particularly the modern political, environmental, and literary history of the state. Altogether, the department holds more than 100 manuscript collections. Some collections are not yet processed or ready for consultation, so researchers are advised to call or write before visiting to confirm their availability.  Our manuscript and photo collections are listed below, in seven major categories:
